Wach the first 2 minutes and 24 seconds from the following video and then in groups of 6 make the same role play. First you must write the dialogues on a paper to be able to practice them.
Then, answer the following questions: Where does the scene takes place? Name the jobs of the employees Why they were so excited?
Activity for students of 3th and 4th grade.
Hi Ana. I like a lot the activity that you are proposing here. I find it very complete and useful. The pronunciation in the video is very clear, so this makes it accesible for more levels. I think I will try it with 4th grade as you recommend, while we work the unit about jobs. I think that role plays are a very good way for the students to practise their English. They are fun and motivating, and students get the oportunity to express theirselves in an easier and correct way. Also real situations could be created so they could benefit from this for future conversations with english-speakers. Many thanks!

Hello Ana, I have find your activity very attractive for your students. In my opinion, I think that working with role plays helps to our students a lot to work with more autonomy and learn the language in a natural way. I think that the video is very appropriate for 4th of primary even for upper grades.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
I like a lot.

Hi, very interesting... It´s similar than activities I did when I was student, but now you can see on video before, in the past we only saw on the book, and them repeat the role. I think is better your activity.

Hello Ana,
ReplyDeleteI never thought about an activity like this one. I wish I had this idea before, because I think that it is very original for our students. Role Play activities are really useful for getting used them to not only speak to someone, but to learn the correct intonation of what is said according to the context in any different moment.
So, congratulations for the activity.
Best!
Diego
Hello Ana
ReplyDeleteThese types of activities are essential for students to acquire and develop language skills in the context of the school. The design of the activity allows the students to develop the language communication skills in English (listening, reading and speaking), as well as the development of group work attitudes and the acceptance of the critical skills of classmates.
I believe that it is a very complete and relevant content in the learning of ESL along with the development of integral development of the student integrating the recognition of autonomous work and the quality of the values.
Best regards,
Jesús E.F.
HELLO ANA,
ReplyDeleteI would like to underline this kind of activity because I belive that you can practice all of the communication skills while students have a good time and enjoy thanks to the relationship with their classmates.
Congratulations!
